Everyone knows the age-old love story, right? Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy and girl suffer genetic manipulation by evil forces trying to take over the world, leaving the girl as a vampire and the boy as a hat… wait, what? There’s only one thing for it: go on a bloodthirsty rampage of death and destruction in a quest to become human again! Packed with platform blasting action, tongue-in-cheek humour and tonnes of exploding body parts, head out on a journey through hell and back (literally) to change you both back to normal. Unlock abilities you never knew you had, then shoot your way through five worlds of blood-soaked monochrome mayhem and who knows, you might even set a new high sgore (ahem) along the way….
At its most frustrating, I Want To Be Human is at its best… the intense, demanding platforming was superb.
I Want To Be Human is a gory mixture of a shooter/platformer game with a lot of blood and kind of a childish sense of humour. The game has a lot of references to old school games, not only with some of the enemies, but also with the difficulty level. If you are on true challenging games, then you should try this one.
I Want to Be Human is not the game we expected. It's not that original, and the controls aren't as responsive as a game like this one requires. It's not terrible, but it feels old –and not in a good way.
I Want To Be Human does little to match the great titles in its genre. There is an existing charm to the concept and art style, but fiddly controls and non-existent upgrades leave much to be desired.
