No camping trip is complete without the proper supplies. Be sure to outfit your Sims with a tent and new hiking gear. Treat your Sims to some roasted marshmallows and share fireside stories of adventure, wonder, and fright with the gang.
Create Exotic Potions as an Herbalist. Build your Sim’s herbalism skill to create a variety of useful potions, ranging from insect repellant to a concoction that can help soothe a tense Sim. This new skill will be useful to help Sims identify which wild plants are edible or poisonous.
The Sims 4 fans will enjoy this brand new game pack, that adds a few new features but ends up falling short in terms of new content.
Suffice to say, there’s plenty to do here. It’s a pricy expansion, but it’s well worth it if you’re a fan of not only the game, but the great outdoors as well.
The new content is certainly welcome, but how much replay value the new area will generate still remains to be seen. In any case, the ability to crash your obnoxious Sim, permanently, at anyone's fancy digs is never going to get old.
While it’s not nothing you shouldn’t expect from a Sims expansion, Outdoor Retreat has enough content to expand the base game, and it keeps The Sims 4 fresh enough to keep playing. Ultimately, it’s a fun experience and a great way to bring some life back into The Sims 4.
Maxis fill the empty shell that The Sims 4 is with an original add-on. The Sims really get to go out of their suburban life, into the woods. Especially the new skill, Herbalism, is big in this game and it takes a while to figure it out, which is a nice challenge. This Game Pack is not gonna rock your world, but it will definitely stir up the lives of your Sims a bit.
This Expansion Pack is undoubtedly an interesting breath of fresh in a little bit forgotten land of The Sims 4, but it does not offer enough new activities to keep your interest for a dozen or so hours. Only for the most dedicated fans.
The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat has fun new items, a unique aspirations, and new activities. It is nice to bring your virtual people to the outdoors but fails to give longevity outside of a brief vacation.
